A ladybird in winter

00:00 / 00:32

Radiators thaw you
to a surprise of snow,
and sliding out two glass wings
you lift and flit and kiss

hard the window’s cold lip.
Tiny spiders run scared
of your scale, pray to be flies –
but you see only white:

aphids of men and dogs.
Internal clock buggered,
no time to waste, you challenge
the physics of this dream.
